  • Agri-tourism is made up of many facets.  Generally smaller commercial operations with all sizes of livestock, produce including fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.  Often organic and holistic practices are in place with emphasis on the pursuit of family involvement in the operation of the farm.  Some of these businesses process the food they produce, others sell the produce in a nearly pure natural state.  Because they are small and dedicated to family life, they frequently encourage visitors who are new acquaintances.   Some of these operations plan special events to entertain their visitors.  Others simply include visitors in their basic chore plans.  Some do not see themselves as a tourist venue and do not market themselves as such.  In all cases, it is advised that all visitors respect private land and good manners.  Consult websites and call contact numbers before going to the farm location, please.  All small agricultural pursuits are important to the Ozarks.  That they thrive is part of the mission statement of the Resource Conservation and Development Councils.  You will find Agri-tourism type businesses listed under the nearest category on the main page – Agri-Tourism
There are many farms listed under other categories.   Please contact them before planning tours of their facilities.  Some are not staffed for tours.
