Springs
Welch Spring in Shannon County, Missouri on the Current River and Gladden Creek. The spring wells up 350 feet from the entrance of a gated and fenced cave. Average flow is 105 million gallons of water per day. The spring has been the site of a mill in the 19th century and later a sanitarium for asthma treatment operated by Dr. Christian Diehl in the early 20th century. The property was sold to the National Park Service in 1967.
